It is a matter of balance.

Soft waves move across the marble surface, while rigid forms create contrast. The lines guide the eye through the changing rhythm of the panel.

Glitch and rhythm

The idea draws on Jackson Pollock's work: a gesture across the wavy surface leaves a tracing effect. Simple forms sit within the waves and emerge as the eye moves across them.

Two inspirations

A second inspiration was a sculpture in the film The Devil's Advocate. A special effect blurs the figures on it until they become a smooth, topographic shape.
