The tree had already made the shape

Before my thesis, I carved organic forms from solid blocks of wood with a CNC machine. For the thesis, I changed direction.

I collected Y-shaped forks from storm-fallen trees. I scanned the pieces in 3D and used algorithms to align them into walls and structures.

The tree had already made the shape. My work became finding a way to bring those forms together.
